The fans are what really keep the Oregon Ironman alive.  All the contestants in the world wouldn't make it what it is, if it were not for so many fans and supporters of this year's Oregon Ironman. 

In addition to many fine  bodybuilding and figure athletes, this year also introduced a new Bikini Division which was very exciting to watch.  

Special awards and recognitions were presented during the show.  One of the presentations was a Special Recognition award, presented to Mick Skinner of Bodybuilding.com, Title Sponsor for the Oregon Ironman.

A second presentatino was for the Team awards presented to 4 Team trainers;
Kristi Todd
Chris Lester
Bill & Michelle Haines
Phillip Hensen - Team Next Level (largest group of competitors)

Another special award was presented to Dale Morishige for the special distinction of competing in every RK Smith show, which besides the Oregon Ironman, also includes the NPC Seven Feathers Bodybuilding & Fitness show.


Another special award was given to Matthew Hoffman, in the Physically Challenged category.  He recovered from a near fatal car accident and first appeared in the Seven Feathers show last year and competed in Novice Men Middleweight Division at this show.  He's a remarkable young man who came back from near death and competed in two shows already.

Kim Farrison gave special mention to the entire RK Smith Events crew, calling them by name and asking them to come up on stage.  It takes quite an outstanding crew to keep a show like this running smoothly.

Before the show kicked off, the National anthem was performed by Kimball Kevin Craig, a senior at Nestucca High School.

Following the National Anthem, the audience was greeted by the Groove Nation Dance group, "Kontrolled Kaos", from Vancouver, WA.  These kids were just awesome.  Please see the main page for a video of their performance on Youtube.
